Domino drive

The last of this season’s domino drives was held in the village hall last Friday. Dorothy Pennock was the evening’s winner with top score of 124 followed by J Simpson with 112. Close behind these two were E Vasey, M Thompson and C Cockerill, all with 110.

Other winners included L Douglas, E Ward, K Vasey, C Fletcher, D Pennock, K Shields, M Thompson, S Eddon, Chloe Gibson, S Hildreth and R Colley. Carol Cockerill won the accumulato­r prize with 624 points collected over the whole season.

Jessica Mudd, D Ford, C Cockerill, A Wildsmith, E Massheder, J Ward, C Fletcher, A Mudd, J Cockerill E Perrin, R Colley, Chloe Gibson, E Mudd, A Bowes, E Vasey, K Vasey, and M Truran won raffle prizes. Supper was prepared and served by A Tidd and D Ford.

The amount raised on the evening was £134.78, and this will go towards the upkeep of the village hall. David and Elaine Mudd have worked hard organising the domino drives throughout the winter months and as a thank you for all their effort, were presented with flowers and wine from the Village Hall Committee.

Thanks also go to the people who have either baked cakes for the supper or donated the many prizes. Also many thanks to all the players who have come from the villages around Brompton, to support the evenings and make them such a success. We hope to see you all again next season.
