Tuesday’s coffee morning gifts continue to be given to the surgery towards the Doppler Scanner. On Wednesday we continued our Lenten prayer journey as we ‘gathered round the word’. This takes place each Wednesday during Lent at 4pm. Craft club meets each Thursday at 1.30pm.

An offering is currently being taken to help with famine relief in Africa. This is distributed by All We Can so we know that every penny given will go to help those in such great need. There will be a retiring offering on Sunday.

Our Mothering Sunday service was led by Deacon Helen Webster. We were welcomed by Christine Pickard and Ray Pickard was the offertory steward. It was lovely to welcome the Rainbows and Brownies who helped Deacon Helen re-enact the parable of the Good Samaritan. Thank you, Skyla, Winnie, Evie, India and Kiara. The children also distributed flowers to everyone.

Our Lenten Liturgy was read by Steve Branston and Jean Brown and the crown of thorns and purple robe placed on the cross. The lesson from the book of Ruth was read by Liz Aconley and Jean Brown read the lesson from the first book of John. Organist was Chris Cade and audio visual was by Christine Fenwick.

The all age worship this Sunday at 10.30am will continue with the previous day’s Messy Church story of the lost sheep and will be led by the Worship Team. All invited.
