Join these entries in new £100 prize picture competition
Could you take a photograph to show what makes you proud to live in Scarborough? That is the theme of a new photographic competition open to members of the public and run by Scarborough & District Civic Society, in conjunction with The Scarborough News.
A short description of the photograph should also be included, saying what significance the entry has for you.
The entries will be displayed at the Central Library in Vernon Road, June 5-10.
The competition closes at midnight on May 27, 2017.
The competition is being held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the start of Conservation Areas.
Adrian Perry, of the Scarborough & District Civic Society, said: “It is not a competition for the most perfect photograph – and entries are just as valid whether taken on expensive professional equipment or inexpensive phone cameras.”
Submissions can be either in print or digital, colour or mono. There are two age categories in the competition: under-16s (with parental or guardian consent) and aged 16 and over.
Entrants must not be professional photographers. The winner of each category will receive a prize of £100.
The subject matter must be within two miles of Scarborough Town Hall.
Each entry should be submitted with name, address and telephone number.
Competition rules and an entry form can be downloaded from Scarborough & District Civic Society’s website at www.scarboroughcivicsociety.org.uk
Digital entries should be emailed to photo@scarboroughcivicsociety.org.uk
