Youngsters Harry Ingle and Joe Cappleman stole the show as 12 Scarborough ABC fighters took to the ring for their annual home show.
Four skills bouts opened the evening in front of a good crowd at the Blue Dolphin, before a further eight contests to finish the show. Ten-year-old Bobby
Cappleman opened the show in a skills bout against Selby ABC’s Callum Srgowski.
After a fairly even opening round, Cappleman impressed as he looked the more accurate and active fighter in the second and third rounds. Alfie Williams-Stanton, 13-years-old, then took on Austin Folkton from East Hull ABC.
Williams-Stanton shone in the first round, dominating from his southpaw stance, before two closer rounds to finish the skills bout.
Murphy Jenkinson, 10, was the next Scarborough boxer to take the ring as he took on Adam Buckley from Doncaster in another skills bout.
Three all-action rounds followed as both threw flurries of punches at a ferocious pace.
The final skills bout of the evening saw 14-year-old Zeke
Gledhill meet Kyle Marshall from Rawthorpe.
After a cagey and tactical opening round, Gledhill impressed in the second with his use of body shots.
The closely-fought contest finished with a fast-paced third round.
Next up was the home club’s most impressive performance of the evening as Joe
Cappleman claimed a unanimous points win against Kai Stenson from Selby.
Cappleman showed great timing as he landed several counter combinations on the visitor.
