Thanks to all for raising record sum

-

The event organisers would like to say a very big thank you to all who attended and supported the 2017 Scarborough Goldwings Light Parade.

You can all congratulate yourselves on a job well done since your efforts have raised a record sum this year. With Yorkshire Air Ambulance staff on board we took a massive £8,910.08 at our brilliant show.

This year the event raised funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and there was a steady stream of spectators all day long coming to see our Goldwings displays on the West Pier and in Foreshore Road. Long range poor weather predictions turned out to be completely wrong for Scarborough and apart from one 20 minutes shower on Saturday morning, the event basked in sunshine most of the afternoon and well into the evening, saving a beautiful clear night for our glittering parade and spectacular fireworks display.

Finally we would like to thank the Yorkshire Air Ambulance team again for providing all the gazebos, the helivan, and tombola stall plus an excellent team of additional volunteer collectors.

Our thanks must also go to the wonderful Goldwing riders who came long distances to be in Scarborough, to our volunteers from Goldwings for Life, White Rose Goldwings and Goldwings North Wales, James Corrigan, the businesses that donated prizes and printing sponsorship, South Bay Traders’ Association, Starfire fireworks, Yorkshire Coast Radio, Scarborough News, Scarborough TV News, DiscoverYorkshire.com, Coast and County Radio, and of course all you super spectators who turned up in your thousands to support this dazzling charity event.
