Scarborough Ladies Under-15s kicked off their season with a 5-1 win against Wigginton.

Having fallen behind against the run of play, they struck back immediately when captain Daisy Willis fired home from just inside the box.

Further goals from Emma Willis and Beth Metcalfe put the Ladies in control before break and the pair combined again for the goal of the game midway through the second half to put the game out of reach.

Having tied the full-back in knots, Willis delivered the perfect cross for Metcalfe to volley home.

Khyarna Foster added a fifth goal to cap a fine personal performance, and there were excellent debuts for the club by Eden Sellers, Izzy Garnett and Lydia Hanson. Scarborough Ladies

Under-14s played their away match at Sherburn thanks to Fulford’s pitch being unplayable as they kicked off their new campaign.

And they were on the front foot straight from the whistle with Fulford’s stand-in goalkeeper in outstanding form to deny the Reds time and time again.

Incredibly, the teams went in to the break 0-0 with Scarborough goalkeeper Amber Colling making only one save of note thanks to some fabulous defensive work at the back.

It was more of the same from the off in the second period, until striker Jess Hindle robbed the Fulford defence before racing away towards the goal to slam the ball home.

And Hindle was on target it again only a few minutes later after Lucy Roberts won the ball in the middle and played her in for a carbon copy goal.

Scarborough were in total control at this point and it came as no surprise when livewire Hindle completed her hat-trick after being played through by skipper Daisy Stokoe.

And a few minutes later it was 4-0 when Stokoe waltzed down the wing before playing in goalkeeper-turned-striker Colling, who sped forward to hammer home.

Fulford kept battling away and they scored a deserved consolation with the last kick of the game.

Next up this Saturday is a tough home match against

Middlesbrough side Kader. Scarborough Ladies Under-12s kicked off their season with a fantastic 3-0 win against York RI.

Two goals from Abi Boyes and one from Lucy Tighe, plus an outstanding performance all round secured the win.

Saturday saw a disappointing start for Scarborough Ladies Under-16s suffering an opening day defeat at the hands of Goole Town. Despite a promising start with both Georgia Howarth and Anna O’Connor going close to opening the scoring, it was Goole who made the most of their chances.

With the Scarborough side lacking in pre-season training it was clear the opposition were the fitter of the two sides and took every opportunity given to them.

Despite the score Scarborough did produce some fabulous passing and had their own chances but the Goole keeper was in no mood to let anyone past her.
