Matiques impress at City of York Stadium meeting

Three club members competed in the final Open Track and Field meeting at the City of York Athletic Club stadium, and they all achieved some personal best performanc­es.

Issy Nicholls was first Under-13 girl in the 1500 metres with a personal best time of 5.14.78.

Isabel Matique won the Under-15 Girls high jump with a personal best of 1.55 and was second in the

200 metres with

28.20.

Joseph Matique (pictured) achieved personal bests in both his Men’s Under-17 events.

He was second in the high jump with 1.65 and fourth in the 800 metres.

Four club members finished among the top overall scorers in the City of York Summer Track and Field League.

Dan Tomlinson was first Under-17 man, HannahElla­msecondUnd­er-15 girl, Jenna Wheatman second senior woman and Isabel Matique fourth Under-15 girl.

Seven took part in the latest Sewerby Parkrun.

Mark Colling finished in second overall of 214.

He was followed by Jonathan Wardley, who recently rejoined the club after returning to Scarboroug­h after living in Thailand, and finished in fifth.

Michael Dowson followed in seventh.

Warren Foster was 39th male and was followed by Alan Keenan 76th and 2nd Over-70, Andrew Gill 93rd and Mick Thompson 125th and second Over-75, while Lesley Bayes was 83rd female and second Over-65.

Ten took part in the latest Dalby Parkrun.

There was some good age group results achieved with Glyn Hewitt heading the Over-45 men when finishing second overall.

Chris Allen followed in 10th and was the second Over-45.

Ralph Broadley was first Over-65 and 13th overall and was followed by Geoff Cromack who was first Over-55 and 19th male.
