Rolo scooped the Scarborough Flooring Division One and Whitby Endeavour took the Glazetech Division Two title.

The season concluded with Rolo crowned as champions of Scarborough Flooring Division One and Whitby Endeavour rounding off an excellent season with the Glazetech Division Two title.

Liberators Southside had wrapped up the Scarborough Flooring Division Three title in some style weeks earlier and will be looking forward to playing at a higher level.

SCARBOROUGH FLOORING DIVISION ONE

Rolo showed Nomads no mercy in a one-sided 9-1 victory.

Rolo fielded their top players - Martin Lowe and Lennart Lukosch.

Those two put on a breathtaking display of table tennis that left the result in no doubt.

Third player Moke Warburton added a further two wins and will be disappointed to miss out in the fifth end to Gary Connolly.

Mike Fenby was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as

James Builders capitulated to Hackness B.

Derek Elliott and Pete Kirk for Hackness both managed to outlast Fenby in five ends. Builders’ number one Simon James won each of his singles matches and took the doubles with Fenby.

Peter Lee, Elliott and Kirk all came away with a brace.

Mavericks’ Macaulay Youngson was unbeaten against Hackness A, but as

Mavericks were unable to field a full side his efforts were in vain as Hackness took the match 6-4. Corinthians’ Glenn Hodgson bagged three wins in a match that again saw some fine performances from division one newcomers Scalby Old Boys.

In particular Matty Whilde excelled with two five-end wins over Corinthians’ Mark Marshall and Dale Symons.

Unorthodox left-hander Matthew Rutt also took the notable scalp of Marshall - again in five ends.

Symons secured a brace in a 7-3 win for the more experienced team.

GLAZETECH DIVISION TWO

Going into the final week of fixtures three teams were still in with a chance of the title. In the end Whitby Endeavour cruised to a 10-0 win over an understrength Eastfield Warriors to take the title by four points from Trinity, with Ryedale Sports Club a further point behind.

Eastfield Warriors offered scant resistance to Endeavour. Graham Cripps, Phillip Hatton and Barry Davies were singles winners.

Jonathan Parkinson came in for the doubles and teamed up with Cripps to win and ensure all 10 points. Trinity were 7-3 winners against Picadore B.

Piotr Ozon took his usual three wins to end the season with a 92% winning record, leaving him just behind Ryedale’s Pat Swindell in the Division Two averages.

John Warburton won two matches for Trinity but lost out to Nigel Chandley for the third time this season.

Chandley was Picadore’s best player on the night, adding the scalp of James Biggs for a brace. Ryedale Sports Club made light work of a makeshift Whitby Resolution line-up.

Jonathan Parkinson took Whitby’s only point in a 9-1 reverse, beating veteran Mick Carter.

Pat Swindell and John Gascoyne hit trebles for Ryedale both of which included five end defeats of Parkinson.

Jack Louth put in a superb performance for Bingo Mcvitie as they went down 8-2 to Hobnobs B.

The youngster beat both Simmo Simms and the indefatigable Trevor Teasdale in five games.

Allan Thurling, with a backhand every bit as good as Jack Louth’s forehand, was the player of the match with an unbeaten performance for Hobnobs.
