• The new housing development at High Mill will get more buses.

• Buses will go into the Middle Deepdale development for the first time, meaning residents can easily travel to Scarborough town centre.

• Scalby residents will get new direct links to the Peasholm Park area of the town.

Most Scarborough town buses will also be renumbered, with new times and new circular services, and Cloughton and Burniston will now be served by Service 115 instead of Service 15.

Scarborough & District commercial manager Bob Rackley said: “Our Scarborough town bus network is quite complex, so we wanted to take the opportunity to simplify it, and make sure as many people as possible can get from their homes to the town centre, hospital and tourism attractions without having to change buses.” The new timetables are available now from www.eyms. co.uk or at the company’s Travel Centre in the Railway Station.

Scarborough residents can also come and find out more about the new services and pick up a new Scarborough Town Buses booklet containing all the new timetables at the following drop-in events around the town:

• Newby & Scalby Library on Scalby Road, Tuesday 3 April, 10am-2pm.

• Sandybed Lane, outside St Augustine’s School, Tuesday 3 April, 2.30pm-4pm.

• Newlands Park Pub car park (opposite Co-Op) on North Leas Road, Wednesday 4 April, 10am-noon.

• Wreyfield Drive shops (near Cooplands), Wednesday 4 April, 12.30pm-2.30pm.

• Scarborough Town Centre on Westborough (near Poundland), Saturday 7 April, 10am3pm.
