The winter Indoor Tennis season is coming to a climax with only two more weeks to play and the outdoor season starting with the Driffield League in April.

The early Division One match had Hackness & Scarborough B versus their colleagues in the C team and a very good match it was.

The pick of the pairs were young John Ellison and partner Paul Zac, who took both their rubbers as did the other B team pair of Stuart Hughes and James Draper securing the victory.

For the C team, Bryan Edwards partnered Harriett May and Adam Tildsley with Paul Reddish all played their part in a well contested match of high quality tennis by both sides.

The second Division One match was between Scalby and Bridlington A.

This was another good match resulting in a 3-1 win for the Scalby team.

Bridlington came with one man short so Martin Glassett filled in and played with Joel Rollinson and the two had a good night taking the one Bridlington rubber.

However Matt Thundercliffe and Bobby McNamara were too strong for both Bridlington pairs winning both their rubbers leaving Steve McNamara and Richard Stacey to take the vital third rubber to seal the result.

Anthony and Andrew Purvis, normally two excellent strikers of the ball for Bridlington had to leave empty handed.

In Division Two, the Rudston team went home with a superb win under their belt taking the scalp of Bridlington B without dropping a rubber.

Ian Reed partnered Jane Crossley for the winning team ably supported by Peter Crossley and Mike Sellers.

For the Bridlington team Jon Bell played with Jill Crawford and Luke Ashby partnered Mike Fell.

The final match of the evening saw Hackness & Scarborough E entertain Driffield LTC.

For the local team Steve Brindle and Erkaits Inoue distinguished themselves by winning both their rubbers and this was the difference between the two teams as their team mates Jon Conyers and Christian Miners drew both theirs.

For their opponents Neil Bramma and partner Lawrence Lewis played his usual consistent quality play again well supported by Anthony Bryce and Andrew Marr.
