Jacob’s cinematic video has won him his dream job

-

A Scarborough man has landed his dream job filming his journey travelling around the country.

Jacob Allen, 22, received 1,500 votes for creating a cinematic masterpiece about his hometown of Scarborough.

The self-employed photographer was among 1,000 applicants who applied to become National Rail’s next chief adventure officer.

Jacob said: “I couldn’t believe it when I found out that the public had voted for me to become their next chief adventure officer.

“I love exploring and bringing things to life for people through video, and now I’m going to get paid to do just that.

“I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me and helping me to win my dream job.”

He made a 60-second video which appeared alongside four other finalists with more than 5,300 votes being cast.

His video shows a day of sightseeing in Scarborough from exploring the castle to enjoying an ice cream at Harbour Bar before watching the sun set over North Bay.

During the rest of the year the public will get to vote for the activities that Jacob will experience, as he vlogs his way around Britain, using his 16-25 Railcard.

National Rail works with the train companies in Europe, there’s also a chance that Interrail Passes will be given away as competition prizes to thank people for voting.
