GlentonCar­r shines on club debut at Hell on the Humber

Sharren Glenton-Carr made an excellent debut for the club when competing in the Hell on the Humber Mad Hatter event.

This consisted of completing as many laps of four miles on and around the Humber Bridge inside nine hours.

Sharren notably completed seven laps and thus a total of 28 miles.

Five club members competed in the annual Helmsley Multi-Terrain 10-kilometre race.

Matt Middleton was first for the club over a course that was extremely muddy in parts after incessant rain and was 11th overall of 289 finishers.

He was followed by Mark May, who was 65th overall.

Rebecca Dent was first of club’s three female runners after finishing 28th female overall and the third Under-20.

Sally Kingscott and Sam Shepherdso­n followed in 58th and 62nd female respective­ly.

Three club members competed in Daffodil

Dash races which were held on testing courses in the grounds of the Temple Newsam stately home.

Shaun Tymon took on the challenge of the marathon event and finished up in 22nd overall in 5 hours 8 minutes which reflected the nature of the course.

Melanie Day and Wendy Pattison supported each other in the 6.7mile event, and finished together in 96 minutes 8 seconds in officially 51st and 52nd.
