Grice sparkles as Heslerton Hurricanes make impressive debut performance

-

Heslerton Hurricanes Under-Sevens started their venture into Scarborough Minor League football with a home tie against Cayton.

The away team took an early advantage but a strike from Alfie Grice brought the Hurricanes back into the game.

However despite their best efforts Cayton added to their tally to take the spoils.

The second game saw a first-half hat-trick for Grice which was just enough for the hosts to hang on for victory. Heslerton Pirates Under-11s welcomed Scalby Otters to Sand Lane, and a quick start saw Pirates take the lead through Shaun Isaac.

Scalby equalised quickly after, but goals from Will Leeson, Shaun Isaac, Jack Boyes, Kenzie Palliser, Oliver Dade and four from man of the match Malachey Kendrew saw the hosts comfortably home.

Heslerton Under -12s visited West Pier on Sunday.

The visitors struck first when Charlie Swiers was upended in the box and he struck home the spot-kick

A second soon followed from a Swiers free-kick and a third soon after with a deflected strike.

On the stroke of half-time Pier pulled a goal back.

After the break the hosts showed great determination to pull level and earn a point.

Myles Johnson was given the man of the match award for Heslerton.

The Heslerton Under-15s put in their strongest showing of the season, pushing a talented Fulford side close despite losing out 4-2 in their League Cup encounter.

After dominating early on, hosts Heslerton were hit with a sucker punch on the break.

Ben Flinton’s cross was turned narrowly wide by Jayden Isaac, before Fulford went 2-0 up.

Heslerton replied with a bullet header from captain Ihsan Eroglu, only for Fulford to re-establish their lead.

When Tom Horsley found Isaac who lobbed the keeper, the hosts believed they had a chance.

After a goalmouth scramble the Blues thought they had snatched the equaliser, only for it to be ruled to have not crossed the line.

It allowed Fulford to add a fourth and seal the victory.

Heslerton Under-16s suffered their first league defeat of the season as they were beaten 4-2 by Easingwold Town Hawks.

Heslerton went ahead through skipper Ollie Stanton.

The visitors levelled before the break and went ahead early in the second half before a cross from Alex Lyall was powered home by Toby Dale.

Robbie Lang came close with a header and after Easingwold had scored two more Stanton saw a goalbound effort tipped away by the keeper.

Man of the match was the Blues keeper Will Gilbank.
