Car crashes into cliff tramway
A car rolled and crashed into The Cat’s Pyjamas Cafe at the Central Tramway Company cliff lift, in St Nicholas Cliff, on Sunday afternoon. The 1920sinspired cafe has now reopened after the incident. It had been closed for three days to carry out the needed repairs. Nobody was hurt when the car hit the building. A Scarborough man has joined a bunch of “wannabe club reps” in a brand new series on E4.
Joe Grassham featured in episode three of Club Rep Wars on Sunday evening at 10pm.
The eight-episode series follows two teams of men and women competing to win the chancetoworkaseasononthe island of Zante. The 22-yearold said: “This was a great opportunity for me. It was a fresh start for me, something new and a new challenge. I’ve previously done four weeks in Zante so I’ve wanted to revisit that sort of work.”
The former Scarborough Sixth Form student was approached on Facebook to apply for the show which led to the opportunity for filming for the show this summer.
Talking about the show, Joe said: “Essentially it’s two teams working abroad and they compete against each other to win a job working abroad for the season. Every few days a new arrival will spend time with each team and then decide which team they think has what it takes to win the job.”
Joe, who now works in a call centre, said that it was “fun working away and what you would expect on the strip and running events”.
The 22-year-old had previously attended Northumbria University to study Business Management but said that it “wasn’t for him.”
Now Joe, who is still living in Newcastle, is now hoping that it brings opportunities in reality TV as he is hoping to progress in the industry in the future.
