Brunswick opens up its toilets for shoppers
The toilets at Scarborough’s Brunswick Shopping Centre are now open again.
There have been concerns about a lack of facilities in the town centre since non-essential shops reopened.
A spokesperson for the shopping centre said: “The facilities are now safe to use following the Government’s easing of social distancing restrictions from two metres to one metre plus.
“The safety of shoppers, staff, and retailers remains our priority, and we will continue to follow the latest Government guidelines to keep people safe and to support the national efforts to limit the spread of Covid-19.”
The Scarborough News reported how Scarborough Borough Council had temporarily opened toilets in the Town Hall following calls for facilities to be provided. Toilets in the Market Hall have also been opened. Before these toilets were open, one woman contacted us to say she had to resort to relieving herself in a back street because she could not find any toilets open.
