Long walk to find a toilet open in centre

Buoyed by information in the Scarborough News in which Scarborough Borough Council affirmed its WCs are now open, I ventured from Falsgrave to the harbour via the castle, enjoyed a modest takeaway snack, and ambled up to Boyes.

At this point a loo was required so I confidently headed to the Market Vaults only to discover the doors firmly shut and no external access to a WC. Luckily I had neither child nor disabled person accompanying me during an uncomfortable journey along King Street then down the vertiginous steps alongside St Nicholas Square to the open WC followed (not knowing if that one would be available either).

I will not attempt to support local businesses until loos are provided.
