Scarborough people paying for HS2 project
I am writing to you as I think your readers should be aware of the impact that the construction of HS2 is having on our countryside.
Although people in Scarborough may believe HS2 is not really their concern, I would remind everyone that each and every taxpayer in the land is paying for this project, and the destruction of our beautiful English countryside has already begun to facilitate it.
There are many reasons why we should object to its continuation and force works to stop immediately.
It is already three times over budget and a conservative estimate puts the total at £107 billion. If the people of Scarborough had been asked, would they not have preferred such sums to be invested in updating the current infrastructure?
