Village is first stop as mobile library gets back on the road
Books are back on your doorstep this weekend as lockdown restrictons are eased
Hunmanby mobile library service will make a return to the village for the first time on Saturday – four months after lockdown began.
The service will be in the Bayley Gardens Lay By, Bridlington Street in the heart of the village from 10am until noon.
Due to social distancing guidelines users will not be able to board the library, however North Yorkshire County Council staff are ringing round regular library users to ask them what books they would like.
If you would like some books and have not been contacted, the library staff will be able to choose some for you on the day.
You are also able to return your library books, all returned books will go into quarantine for 14 days before being reloaned.
If you live in Hunmanby village and would like books collected or delivered to your door please ring Nick Harvey of mobilelibrary users on 07895 981483.
He and and a team of village volunteers will aim to help you over the forthcoming weeks.
The mobile library will be coming to Hun man by again on Saturday August 22 and then every four weeks, rather than fortnightly.
This due to a revised rota to ensure that the mobile library only visits one location in a day to keep staff and library users safe.
All libraries have been closed since March 23 due to lockdown restrictions.
They began to be eased from Saturday July4. Hairdressers were also allowed to reopen.
