Your guide to events you must not miss this week
1 Old Parcels Office, Scarborough Railway Station, until April 21. Gallery is open from Thursdays to Sundays, daily from 11am to 4pm More than 200 people visited the latest exhibition – focusing on sculpture – at the gallery.
Taking many different forms, the sculptures in the exhibition give the viewer an insight into the way in which each artist selects their materials and works with the different qualities of the material to determine the form and narrative of a work. The exhibition has been organised by Paul Bonomini, who is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors. Regular visitors to the Old Parcels Office will remember Paul’s work Chaos, a large, suspended sound installation at the space two years ago.
Paul said “I am delighted to be returning to Scarborough. I love what the trustees and volunteers are doing at the Old Parcels Office. It’s a unique space and
perfectly suited for showing contemporary sculpture.” Sally Gorham, chair of the old Parcels Ofice, said “It’s a real coup to have such a prestigious exhibition supported by so many members of the Royal Society of Sculptors This is definitely one not to be missed.”

Zoe Cooper said: “Northanger Abbey is a novel about friendship, love, romance and fantasy and how those things collide. “What struck me on my first reading as a queer 19-yearold, was that the central romantic relationship between the romantic heroine and her best friend, Isabella. It is that version of the book I wanted to explore in this reimagining.”
