METHODIST CHURCH – Burniston Methodist Church worship services (with children and young people's groups) are held each Sunday at 10.30am; on the first Sunday of each month at 7.45pm The Gathering will be held – an informal cafe-style service with an invited speaker.

Regular meetings: Mondays, 6pm, Boys’ Brigade (term time); Wednesdays, 1011.30am, Babies and Toddlers Group (term time); Thursdays, 9.45am to noon, The Meeting Place.

A warm space offering fellowship along with hot drinks and snacks. Jigsaws, table games, newspapers and magazines are also available. Free wi-fi. Pay as you feel.

WI MEETING – Expert felter, Liz Riley, was the presenter at the April meeting of Burniston and Cloughton WI.

Liz brought along some stunning examples of her work and showed us how these are created, using a variety of different wool fibres and a wet soap and water method.

Anne Arnott won the competitio­n for her delightful handcrafte­d picture.

At the next meeting on Thursday, May 9, member Alison Meads will give an illustrate­d talk on her travels in India. Meeting starts at 7pm in Burniston and Cloughton Village Hall.

Guests always welcome and prospectiv­e members can come along and try us for free.
