NEW BUILD NEWS

-

The historic Barnton Hotel building in Edinburgh has opened its doors as the showhome for the new residential site, Ramsay Grange, is unveiled.

Potential buyers or just interested members of the public are invited to visit the show home for the retirement apartments until Saturday 1st November; they will then be available to purchase from Monday 3rd November 2014.

Redevelopment of the Grade C Listed building to transform it into nine luxury residential apartments designed specifically for those aged 50 plus has been underway for 12 months. The development will include eight two bedroom and one one-bedroom apartments. Steve Wiseman, Regional Managing Director of McCarthy & Stone, said: “Barnton has been an extremely exciting site for us to develop. Given the building’s prominent location within the community, there has been a huge amount of interest around the site.”

The adjacent land to the east of the Ramsay Grange development will be used to create an Assisted Living development, Lyle Court, the first develop of its kind for McCarthy & Stone in Edinburgh providing 73 homes for those aged over 70 to offer access to communal resident’s facilities and packages of tailored personal care. www.mccarthyandstone.co.uk Meanwhile planning consent has been secured for Edinburgh’s first luxury Ortus Homes’ development which will be located on Murrayfield Drive in the capital. The development on Murrayfield Drive will be exclusive to those aged over 55 and will provide 16 contemporary retirement apartments complete with fully fitted kitchens, allocated parking and private balconies or terraces.

Ortus Homes is an innovative concept from the McCarthy and Stone group to give over 55s the freedom to enjoy their leisure years without the worry of maintaining a large family home. There are already a number of Ortus Homes’ sites south of the Border.

The development planned for Murrayfield is due to go on sale from May 2015 with first occupations expected in late 2015.
