Hunter-Hill looking to help Stew-Mel continue streak

- GARY HEATLY

SEVENTEEN-year-old Callum Hunter-Hill’s rugby career took another step forward this week and now he will be looking to help Stewart’s Melville record a fourth BT National League One win on the spin this afternoon.

On Monday night, the second-row came off the bench to help Edinburgh Rugby A defeat Ontario Blues to add to experience collected at Scotland under-18 and 19 levels in the last year.

And those who have seen the teenager play for the Stewart’s Melville club side so far this term have been impressed how he has made the step up to senior rugby since leaving Stewart’s Melville College in the summer.

Today, he lines up alongside Fraser Morrison in the second row as the fourth-placed Inverleith side host sixthplaced Dundee HSFP.

His fellow young talents Angus Rennie – back in the top team after injury – Fraser Christie and Andrew Manson are also in the squad for the home side.

Leaders Selkirk, who are looking to record their ninth win on the spin, travel to Riverside Park for a Borders derby with Jed-Forest.

For the visitors, young winger Callum McEwan returns to the starting XV.

GHA, who sit in second place, are at home to Biggar while third-placed Watsonians have named an unchanged starting XV for the trip to Peebles.

Kelso, with new coaches Gary Holborn and Andrew Skeen in charge, travel to Marr with Aberdeen Grammar meeting Hillhead/Jordanhill.

Following their win last week to go to the top of BT National League Two, Falkirk face a tough test away at fourth-placed Hamilton today.

Howe of Fife, in second spot, will be looking to get back to winning ways at home to Livingston.

After their superb win over leaders Dumfries last week, Dunfermline will look to keep up their good form in BT National League Three away to Hawick YM.
