Storey introduced in Methil as Aberdeen beat East Fife

Aberdeen warmed up for Thursday’s Europa League match against FK Ventspils by beating East Fife 4-2 in Methil yesterday afternoon.

The Dons, who gave new signingmil­esstorey,pictured, his first run-out, were 2-0 ahead at the break through goals from Adam Rooney and Anthony O’connor, another summer recruit.

But East Fife hit back with two goals in two minutes shortly after the restart. First Ryan Jack deflected a cross past his own goalkeeper and then Neil Alexander was picking the ball out the net again when Paul Mcmanus scored a penalty.

Derek Mcinnes’s side restored their twogoal lead before the end, though, when Jayden Stockley grabbed a double.

In other weekend friendlies, St Johnstone enjoyed a 2-1 success at Glentoran. Steven Maclean opened the scoring early and Chris Lavery levelled before substitute Chris Kane grabbed a late winner for Saints. Chris Erskine scored twice as Partick Thistle won 2-1 at Morton, where Michael Tidser netted for the hosts and Jags’ trialist goalkeeper David Crawford saved Ross Forbes’ second-half penalty.

Inverness Caledonian This- tle thumped Buckie Thistle 8-1. Iain Vigurs and Scott Boden hit doubles. Jake Mulraney, Greg Tansey and Carl Tremarco also scored.

Falkirk won 4-2 at Albion Rovers, Will Vaulks opening the scoring from 20 yards and Bob Mchugh headed the second. Quick-fire goals by Callum Ferguson restored parity just after the hour, but Vaulks thumped home again and Nathan Austin headed in the fourth.
