It replaces the need for those who move from location to location to rely on hotels

The first tenants of a new community built for the rental market have moved in, as the doors to Forbes Place by Dandara Living at Stoneywood, Aberdeen opened for the first time.

Forbes Place is the first private rental scheme (PRS) to be developed in the city, constructed in response to continuous high-demand for homes for lease which provide security of tenure.

The development has been nominated for three awards at the upcoming UK round of the International Property Awards, receiving nods in the Residential High Rise Development, Apartment/ Condominium and Development Marketing categories.

The development, when complete, will contain 276 apartments and 16 townhouses, all fully furnished and available for rental only, offering tenants reliable and luxurious accommodation within a communityfocused neighbourhood.

Forbes Place attracted more than 600 inquiries from prospective tenants, and more than 50 per cent were prelet before the first properties were completed.

It was purchased by global property leader Lasalle Investment Management before construction began, in July 2015, and is being managed by Dandara Living.

The development is designed to address a significant shortfall in quality rental accommodation in Aberdeen and caters to mobile professionals, those who cannot afford to buy a home but want to secure a high standard of accommodation, and companies seeking to reduce their reliance on hotel rooms and privately-owned, rental properties.

Dandara Living lettings manager, Mandy Anderson says: “Forbes Place replaces the need for companies and people who move from location to location to rely on hotel accommodation to provide the higher standard of living they demand.

“Tenants do not need to worry about receiving an unexpected notice to leave their apartment or townhouse because the landlord has decided to sell the property – a tenancy at Forbes Place lasts as long as you need it to.”

The development includes studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as some three-bedroom townhouses, all of which are located just minutes from the city centre. Rents start at £660 per month.

Tenants will benefit from having a management team on site seven days a week, and other benefits such as secure parcel receipt and temperaturecontrolled grocery storage are available.

The Stoneywood community is within ten minutes’ drive of Aberdeen a irport, and just a short walk from local transport links to the city centre, with local amenities on the doorstep.
