Possible sighting in the hunt for missing student

Police are investigat­ing a possible sighting of a French student missing in Edinburgh.

Antoine Maury, 21, a French national studying in the city, was last seen in Milton Road West at around 11pm on Monday. Officers have now issued a fresh appeal for informatio­n following a possible sighting of a man matching his descriptio­n.

The man was topless and he was spotted between 10:45pm and 11pm on Monday near the Duddingsto­n Village area of Holyrood Park.

Officers searched the area on Wednesday with the assistance of police dogs, and Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue and Borders Search and Rescue Unit.

Mr Maury is white, around 0 Antoine Maury went missing on Monday night, said police 6ft, of medium build, with short brown hair, a beard and a fair complexion. He has a tattoo of a bleeding hand on his forearm.

He was last seen wearing a brown/green bomber jacket with dark chinos and a white beanie hat. He is thought to have been wearing black and white Vans trainers.
