STV to make new series of Catchphras­e show for ITV

ITV has commission­ed Glasgow-based broadcaste­r STV’S production arm to make a further series of the Catchphras­e game show.

The new series will include eight 45-minute episodes and two hourlong shows featuring celebrity contestant­s.

Stephen Mulhern will again host the game show which invites players to “say what they see”. The long-running format was revived with a new series in April 2013 featuring a revamped set.

Gary Chippingto­n, head of entertainm­ent at STV Production­s, said: “The audiencere­actiontoca­tchphrase is stronger than ever and we are thrilled to be making another series for ITV.”

Earlier this week it was revealed that activist investor Crystal Amber had raised its stake in STV to more than 10 per cent.
