Ayr United Double celebrations

-

Saturday saw Somerset Park celebrating twice. First, Ayr United had their first Armed Forces Day, organised with the club by diehard fan Captain Micheal Green. It was a great event, which saw the teams being led onto the pitch by a Guard of Honour. At half-time, the forces marched around the park to applause from the fans. Hopefully, this is the first of many forces days.

Secondly, Ayr got another three points, this time against Queen of the South. Ayr have not conceded a goal in 390 minutes of football. As things stand, Ayr are closer to the top of the league than the bottom, an incredible achievement by the management team and players after their first 10 games. Well done to captain Nicky Devlin, who made his 100th appearance for the club. Jamie Garrett
