St Mirren Hampden memories

With no Saints game last weekend, attention turned to the League Cup semi-finals which featured our Championship rivals Morton up against Aberdeen. All rivalries were cast aside as soon as the blue and white hoops of the Ton strode out onto the Hampden turf. Fabulous memories of St Mirren’s glorious 2013 League Cup victory came flooding back when we took on the might of Celtic and then Hearts to take the trophy back to Paisley. Unfortunately for Greenock, Aberdeen ran out 2-0 winners and Morton were denied their day in the sun.

Saturday sees the Buddies visit the capital to face Hibs. Saints are still in search of a first league win, but will have another chance to get maximum points at next Tuesday’s re-arranged Renfrewshire derby. Calum Woodger
