Can’t imagine what her loved ones feel. Really sad.”

#PAULGASCOIGNE

Former footballer Paul Gascoigne was admitted to hospital after being allegedly kicked down a flight of stairs in a drunken brawl. @beveridge1994 said: “Love him or hate him but Paul Gascoigne has serious mental health issues and does not deserve to be publicly humiliated all the time.” Minniemcgee wrote: “Anyone who makes fun of Paul Gascoigne’s mental state will never be a friend of mine. Thoughts are with him, hoping for a swift recovery.” @Hazspur92 tweeted: “Rather than making jokes about him. Paul Gascoigne needs help. It’s a miracle he’s still alive in 2016.” @Jamesprescott77 added: “It says something about this year & this week that the moment I saw ‘Paul Gascoigne’ trending, I assumed the worst. So thankful he’s OK.”

#KRISBOYD

Hearts fans gleefully mocked Kris Boyd after new boss Ian Cathro got his first win as Hearts manager against his biggest critic. Boyd had said Cathro was more familiar with his laptop than how to manage footballers. @pwmcomms said: “Wonder if Kris Boyd has switched on laptop or is having onlinefree day?” @meestah_sahmon wrote: “If Kris Boyd was a Scooby Doo villain you’d pull off his mask to reveal a Scotch egg.” @scottnicoll1874 joked: “Very respectful of Hearts and Cathro to erect a lifelike statue of Boyd in the middle of the pitch.”
