maintenance of grid stability and security!

Perhaps she could explain how she intends to achieve this objective whilst maintaining a stable electricity supply and without importing “dirty” electricity from England?

G M LINDSAY Whinfield Gardens, Kinross I applaud your editorial “Nuclear can help power a greener Scotland” which will upset the SNP and the antinuclear brigade, but people cringe with the SNP soundbites “Scotland has the best emission reduction targets in the world” and “Scotland can be a world leader”.

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a mega-expensive pipe dream. Scottish grants have been given to any company with “renewables” in its name. These have wasted over £120 million.

The US is responsible for 16 per cent of global emissions, but Donald Trump has sent the global warming fraternity into free-fall, saying he does not see future global warming as justifying measures that kill off jobs and curb economic growth.

He added that “America is not going to be bound by the Paris climate agreement and we are not going to phase out fossil fuels”.

He will tell the UN that the US will no longer be contributing money towards it climate change programmes.

China, the largest polluter with 28 per cent of global emissions, has promised to stop increasing emissions after 2030, not reduce them now.

The world is not following Scotland’s mega-expensive energy policy now and never will.
