CLYDE

V STIRLING ALBION

The last available place in the fifth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup will be filled tonight when Clyde host Stirling Albion in a replay following a 2-2 draw ten days ago. A trip to Ayr United lies in wait for the winners with both sides looking for a lift after disappointing results at the weekend.

Clyde went down 2-1 to visitors Arbroath and they will be looking to bounce back with up to eight players missing.

Recent recruits Ryan Finnie and Marc Mckenzie are cuptied, Peter Macdonald and Seanhigginsareinjurydoubts and Ross Perry, Jordan Lowdon, Phil Johnston and Dylan Easton will definitely miss out.

Whatever team manager Barry Ferguson, pictured, picks he is looking for them to be in his competitive mould.

“Losing on Saturday was really disappointing and when that happened to me as a player I wanted to get playing again straight away,” said Ferguson.

“I would have taken a game on the Sunday let alone the Tuesday and I want the players to be the same.”

“Peter and Sean are doubts and they had to come off at the weekend to have any chance of playing in this game. “We are down to the bare bones but I am looking for a reaction.” Stirling went down 4-1 to Annan on Saturday and they face Clyde without talismanic striker Dylan Nguene Bikey, who scored both of their goals in the first meeting before moving to Hearts.

Manager Dave Mackay is looking for his side to impose themselves on their hosts to have any chance of getting through.

He said: “In the first game Clyde never allowed us to play in the manner we would have liked. They closed us down at every opportunity. However, a couple of moments of magic from Dylan saw us grab a couple of goals.

“We do not have his trickery in our armoury now so we need to find a way of getting on top of the game without him.

“We did well at Annan for the first 40 minutes but after that no-one got pass marks and we have to do better in this game.”

Stirling are also low on bodies as their new loan recruit from Rangers, Josh Jefferies, was signed after the date of the original tie and cannot feature in the replay.

Injuries have also ruled out Jack Mccue, Ross Kavanagh, Ross Mcgeachie, Ross Smith and Callumn Morrison. However, Ross Mcmillan could return.
