Mother of murdered Sarah Payne appeals for return of stolen laptop

The mother of murdered schoolgirl Sarah Payne has appealed for the return of her laptop which was stolen by burglars from her home.

Dr Sara Payne, who works for The Phoenix Post campaign group for victims of paedophile­s, posted on Twitter that she was “lost without” the computer.

The 47-year-old wrote: “Burgled, Please, whoever you are, I implore you to return my laptop, it has all of my Phoenix/ Sarahslaw/book work on it, I’m lost without it.

“If anyone handles or publishes my laptop content, they 0 Sara Payne says she is lost without her computer will be charged with handling stolen goods.

“Nothing I can do but start again.”

Dr Payne tweeted: “The police are here, the shed has been burgled, all of our Phoenix equipment stolen! I just want to cry.”

Surrey Police confirmed that officers had attended an address in Walton-on-thames on February 17 following reports of a burglary. A spokeswoma­n said: “Between the hours of 2am and 6am, an intruder gained entry to the rear garden of the property and broke into an outbuildin­g where a laptop was stolen.

“Twocarsatt­headdressw­ere also broken into but nothing was stolen.” Dr Payne’s eightyear-old daughter, Sarah, was abducted and murdered by paedophile Roy Whiting in July 2000.
