Petra sparkles in first trading half

Petra Diamonds has been boosted by a recovery in the market for precious gems, with halftime sales rising 48 per cent to $228.5 million (£183.4m), with net profit of $35.2m. However, Petra added that labour issues linked to a new South African diamond mine could hit production.
