#FMQS
At the weekly session of FMQS, Nicola Sturgeon faced questions over taxes, Brexit and legal system reforms. @jmb520 tweeted: “Nic’s on fire today. Labour’s suggested 1% increase in tax shot down. She doesn’t regard those on £11,500 as being rich.” @jamiegreeneuk posted: “I asked FM a genuine question from a concerned local business, but response was petty, political and defensive. Not good enough.” @dhothersall wrote: “Time and again Nicola Sturgeon shows that she cannot abide being held to account. The SNP has power but will not take responsibility.” @ablabz shared: “Excellent use of the word ‘chuntering’ by @Kenmacintoshmsp at #FMQS today. A word not used nearly enough in my opinion…” @Paulmoravia asked: “I wonder if Reporting Scotland will show the First Minister’s comprehensive drubbing of Maurice Golden on Brexit & independence?”
#NATIONALTOASTDAY
Twitter users took to social media yesterday to share their love for toast. @ourrachblogs tweeted: “I defy you to find a better meal than tea & toast after giving birth. ou can keep your Michelin-starred restaurants.” @Thatcardshop shared: “I stood up on my train just now, tapped my bottle and told a story. Apparently that’s not what #Nationaltoastday is for.” @paddingtonbear wrote: “The only problem with marmalade on toast is that Mrs Bird can see how much marmalade I’m eating.”
#JOHN LEWIS
Department store John Lewis is to axe nearly 800 jobs in its customer restaurants and store administration in its biggest ever round of redundancies. A statement that the move would “harness partners’ knowledge and skills, giving them more scope to be in the right place at the right time”, failed to impress @snburningham1 said: “… harness job skills? Cut backs for the Brexit recession more likely.” @phitleywilp added: “@johnlewisretail v disappointed, you’ve lost my custom which was based on you being different to the rest.” @harryslaststand concluded: “And yet the charlatans of UKIP and the Tories persist to tell us #brexit is good for business.”
