Hare and Hounds on 76 and Metro Aberdeen on 90 points.

In the men’s, it was clearcut again for Derek Easton’s Central as they won from Shettleston Harriers and Cambuslang Harriers.

“We’re pleased to win it again because we have had real strength in depth today. I think all the guys were in the top 20 or close to that,” said Ross Houston, the Glasgow 2014 marathon runner.

“We’ve younger guys like Jamie Crowe coming through – he did really well for fifth – so I think it is down to other clubs to see if they can try and catch us. We even let that guy Butchart have a day off!” Grange marched into the final of the Scottish Cup with an 8-1 thumping of Grove Menzieshill, writes Craig Madden.

Bromac Kelburne will be their opponents after taking a penalty shootout to beat Edinburgh University. The students gave holders Bromac Kelburne the shock of their lives. The game ended 2-2 in normal time and the Paisley side squirmed through 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out.

The University were a goal up at the interval through Ian Moodie but Kelburne levelled when Josh Cairns scored from the spot.

Jonas Nommensen put Kelburne 2-1 ahead with three minutes to go but Dan Coultas equalised with a penalty corner before the dramatic shootout.

There were no such problems for Grange. Luke Cranney gave them the lead in only two minutes and, by the interval, the score had advanced to four through Duncan Riddell, Callum Milne and Cammie Fraser.

In the second half, Todd Mills scored twice, while Milne completed his hattrick of spot conversions.

But Grange fell behind in the race for the first division title when they went down 3-0 to leaders Bromac Kelburne on Saturday.

Edinburgh University have a three-point lead at the top of the women’s first division after beating Milne Craig Western 1-0.
