Konkel back from injury as Scots sign off vs Italy

-

Jade Konkel, the only fulltime professional women’s rugby player in Scotland, returns from injury for tomorrow’s final Six Nations match, against Italy at Broadwood (6.20pm).

Konkel missed the 64-0 defeat by England on Saturday at the Twickenham Stoop but has been selected at No 8 against the Italians in one of two changes to the starting XV.

The other incomer is Edinburgh University prop Katie Dougan who will make her first start for Scotland following eight caps off the bench.

Konkel’s inclusion forces a reshuffle in the back row with Sarah Bonar dropping to the bench to make way for an all Hillhead Jordanhill back-row with Jemma Forsyth and Louise Mcmillan flanking Konkel. l Head coach Sean Lineen has made one personnel change to the Scotland U20 side to face Italy at Broadwood tomorrow (8.30pm) – live on Scottish Rugby TV.
