- By CONOR RIORDAN

Part of a giant tapestry which was stolen from a cathedral exhibition has been mysteriously returned.

A panel from the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry went missing from St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh on 7 May.

The piece, which was made in Holland, has now been recovered but police are con- tinuing to investigate the theft and the circumstances of the panel’s return.

Detective Constable Chris Harding, of Gayfield CID, said: “We are following a number of lines of inquiry and I am pleased with the progress of the investigation, but I would continue to ask anyone with information about the theft, including the person responsible for the panel’s removal and its return, to contact us.” 0 The Great Diaspora Tapestry panel was stolen in Edinburgh
