Car production slips into reverse

Car production fell by almost a fifth last month compared to a year ago, but the outlook for the industry is still positive, a report today shows.

Around 122,000 cars were built, 18 per cent fewer than April 2016, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, with the reduction blamed on the late Easter bank holiday.
