Dalgleish looks to score with Glengarry

● Carluke raider eyes Musselburgh prize

- By GORDON BROWN

Keith Dalgleish is looking for a big run from Glengarry in the feature race at Musselburgh tonight.

The Carluke raider, partnered by Tom Eaves, faces five rivals in the £20,000 Shawbrook Bank Handicap over an extended seven furlongs at the East Lothian venue. Dalgleish said: “Hopefully he is still progressing and the ground should suit him

“His form is looking pretty good and a lot of the horses he ran against last season, such as Nicholas T and Sophie P, have won again.”

Glengarry is a course and distance winner from last August and one of his main opponents could be Mark Johnstontrained Thomas Cranmer, a scorer over this same trip earlier in the month. Four-time Musselburgh winner Ralphy Boy, trained by Alistair Whillans and bred by his Cumbrian owner Frank Lowe, makes a quick reappearance after finishing a respectable sixth at Carlisle on Monday.

Dalgleish also saddles Sebastian’s Wish in the Racing UK Now In HD Handicap. The four-year-old is unbeaten in two starts since joining current connections and has been raised 8lb for his latest success over this same 1m 6f trip.

In the concluding Pay For Racing UK Via Phone Bill Handicap, 2015 hero Cyflymder bids to land the same race again, this time off a 6lb lower mark for his South Yorkshire trainer David Griffiths. At Goodwood, Raheen House can land the EBF Stallions Cocked Hat Stakes. Pitched in against Shutter Speed at Newbury last month, he had to concede 5lb to both the winner, who has since gone on to land the Musidora, and the third, Enable, who claimed the Cheshire Oaks in style subsequently. The merit of Raheen House’s form is there for all to see and it will be disappointing if he cannot step up on that.
