£20m homes scheme gets green light

Scores of new homes are to be built in Glasgow after proposals were given the green light.

Glasgow City Council has given its approval for the delivery of 140 new properties for social rent in Pollokshields, taking the place of a redundant gas works.

The £20 million project off Maxwell Road is being delivered by Home Group in partnership with the council to offer a mix of flats, houses and cottage flats.

Paul Kelly, of AS Homes, said: “Pollokshields is an area of Glasgow which badly needs affordable homes for social rental.”
