#SOPHYRIDGE

Sky TV journalist Sophy Ridge’s gaffe live on air where she accidentally referred to Kezia Dugdale as the leader of “Scottish labia” sent Twitter into meltdown yesterday. Some were impressed by Ms Dugdale’s ability to keep a straight face. @Jamieross7 said: “It is my duty to inform you that Sky News just introduced Kezia Dugdale as the leader of Scottish labia.” @Mrdegsy said: “I look forward to Scottish Labia unveiling their latest celebrity supporter, Urethra Franklin.” @Coral added: “Can only imagine ‘Scottish Labia’ are now the party on everyone’s lips.” But @svsiemcg said: “I aspire to the level of chill that Kezia just maintained after being introduced as the ‘leader of scottish labia’.” @kezdugdale said: “Check out the poker face though.”

#HAMILTON

Hamilton FC retained their Scottish Premiership status at the expense of Dundee Utd as they scraped a 1-0 play-off win. Twitter users couldn’t help but rub salt into the fresh wounds of Dundee Utd supporters. @Jobbergirl1985 said: “Schadenfreude to other clubs is sometimes tacky, but in the case of Dundee United... Brechin is looking nice next year for you?” @thebarfly said: “A load of marathon runners in #edinburgh saying they’ve had ‘a tough day’. I just watched Dundee United. #perspective.” @andys95 commented: “Exciting times to be a Dundee United fan... derby day v Brechin next season.”

#STURGEON

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was interviewed by the BBC’S Andrew Neil yesterday, stating that Jeremy Corbyn was not “credible as an alternative prime minister”. Sturgeon again reiterated her desire to see an independent Scotland above all else. @Leftoverforever said: “#sturgeon being filleted by Andrew Neill. Surely she will never recover from this? #deadfishsinking.” @Pacino10000 added: “#Bbcelection #Sturgeon admits that a vote for @snp is a vote for independence. Remember that on polling day!” @Paulwhitelegg said: “#Sturgeon saying impact of recession on oil and gas industry disproportionately impacts Scotland. Yet #indyref based on oil!?”
