Man accused of five rapes in four years stands trial

A 21-year-old man has gone on trial charged with five rapes.

Liamsimpso­nhaslodged special defences claiming that his three alleged victims consented to sex.

He denies all the sexual offences as well as a charge of repeatedly assaulting one of the women.

The offences are said to have happened between 4 September, 2010 and 24 December, 2014.

A jury at the High Court in Livingston heard that one of the allegation­s involving a 14-year-old girl dated back to 2010 when the accused was 15.

The trial continues.
