A Scottish tourist is fighting for her life after falling from a second-floor balcony in the Ibiza party resort town of San Antonio.

Kanza Rehman, 21, was rushed to hospital with severe head injuries early yesterday after falling from the balcony of an apartment while a male friend was in the toilet.

Police were questioning her friend over the fall, which happened at about 5:30am local time after they had been enjoying a night out, although initial inquiries suggested the fall was an accident.

Ms Rehman is believed to be an international tourism management student at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

She was transferred to Can Misses Hospital near the island’s capital, Ibiza Town, after being stabilised by medical personnel at the scene, and admitted to intensive care around 6:30am with severe head injuries.

She was expected to be transferred to Son Espases Hospital
