Bread and circuses: Performers hit Grassmarket

Diners in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket look on as performers from the Circus Weekend initiative balance precariously on the thoroughfare’s cobblestoned streets.

The free event, now in its second year, returns to the capital on 17 and 18 June in association with Let’s Circus, the travelling circus school and performance company.

The bill includes Witty Look, Japan’s leading comedy circus street theatre duo.
