Saints snub approach for boss Ross
Dundee have made a formal approach to St Mirren to speak to Jack Ross about their managerial vacancy.
The approach was immediately rebuffed by the Paisley side’s board.
Compensation offered by the Dens Park club was not enough for St Mirren to consider allowing their highly-thought-of young manager to leave.
It is expected that the Dens Park side will make a further approach, having identified Ross as the man they want to succeed Neil Mccann.
Mccann opted to return to his job as a TV pundit after his five-game spell as interim manager at Dens following Paul Hartley’s sacking saw him keep the Dark Blues in the Premiership.
Former Alloa manager and Hearts coach Ross also achieved a great escape, steering St Mirren to Championship safety after they had been well adrift at the bottom of the table.
