Coach is axed after cup win

Cup-winning Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel left the club yesterday after a meeting with club chiefs.

The 43-year-old, who led Dortmund to victory in the Dfb-pokal final only three days ago, has parted company with the club after two seasons in charge.

Chief executive Hansjoachim Watzke said the move was not about results but the loss of trust. He added: “It is always about basic values like trust, respect, teamwork, communication, authenticity and identification. It is about reliability and loyalty.
