Mother and son admit fake death
A mother and son have admitted faking her death in order to fraudulently claim £136,000 on life insurance policies.
Arafa Nassib, 48, admitted conspiring with her 18-yearold son Adil Kasim, and Yusuf Abdullah, to commit fraud against Scottish Widows.
They pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court to making false representations last year that Nassib had died in Zanzibar.
They made the fraudulent claims against two policies – one worth £115,267, and another worth £21,263.
