Luxury apartments for an exclusive spot
Giffnock has golf, parks and a quick route to the city, discovers Kirsty Mcluckie
Whitecraigs, like its wider area of Giffnock, is a much sought-after suburb of Glasgow. It sits within the exclusive G46 postcode which was recently named in a list of the ten best Scottish places to live.
It does have many attractions, not least its leafy avenues and access to country parks and sports facilities coupled with quick and easy commuting into the city.
Large family homes abound, but there is also a demand for apartments, to suit those moving up the property ladder and the growing number of downsizers, keen to stay in the area.
Laurel Homes has just launched a show home at its development, Fitzalan Court in Whitecraigs, which has been designed to fit the bill for both types of buyer.
The two-bedroomed Ash style apartment, designed by interiors company Malcolm Duffin Design, is now available to view by appointment.
The development of ten twobedroomed apartments and two three-bedroomed duplex apartments has a convenient location next to Whitecraigs Station.
Roukenglen Country Park, also on the doorstep, has been voted the UK’S favourite green space by the charity, Fields in Trust.
Other nearby amenities include Parklands Hotel and Country Club, Whitecraigs and Cathcart Castle golf clubs and Whitecraigs lawn tennis and sports club.
Because the apartments have to appeal to both young professionals and downsizers, there is a choice of accommodation layout, from the Willow apartment with its impressive open-plan living area, incorporating a kitchen, lounge and dining room, to the Rowan for those who prefer a more traditional separate kitchen.
The finishes are top quality and beautifully illustrated in the showhome, which has a chic colour palette of neutral tones, enhanced by greens and blues throughout.
Malcolm Duffin of Malcolm Duffin Design says: “We have created a single coherent concept based on luxury finishes and warmth of single tones, enhanced by striking design touches in fashionable emerald green, teal blue and navy.”
The showhome also highlights the excellent specification offered with the apartments which feature kitchens by Jackton Moor with integrated appliances such as the NEFF stainless steel oven, five ring integrated hob, built-in microwave and stainless steel chimney hood in addition to luxury touches such as a wine cooler, fridge freezer, washer/dryer and beautiful quartz worktops.
Stylish glass-fronted wardrobes come as standard in the bedrooms while bathrooms and ensuites have sanitary ware with Hansgrohe taps and fittings.
Ground-floor apartments have their own private garden while those on a higher level feature a balcony to enjoy views across the surrounding golf courses and park.
Where better to enjoy this special location?
Prices at Fitzalan court start at £290,000.
