Johnston Press agrees office sale in Sheffield

Johnston Press, the newspaper publisher that owns The Scotsman, has signed an agreement for the sale of Telegraph House in Sheffield.

The group, whose stable of titles includes the Edinburgh Evening News and the Yorkshire Post, said the total amount receivable by the company on completion of the disposal is £ 3.6 million. Completion is expected to take place by the end of this month with the proceeds being used for “working capital purposes”.

The property is currently occupied by some of the company’s sales and edito - rial staff, who will remain in the building for a short transition­al period before moving to new “fit- for- purpose” premises.
