Annan chief fined £ 1,000 for betting

Annan chairman Henry Mcclelland has been handed a £1,000 fine after admittingb reaching the Scottish Football Associatio­n’ s strict gambling rules for the past six seasons.

Mcclelland made thousands of football bets and gambled against his own team, the SF A said in a judgment published on its website.

The Galabank chairman was also handed a further suspended fine of £ 2,000, which he will not need to pay if he does not bet on football games next season.

M cc lell and made 4,011 bet son football over the course of six years, 430 of which featured his own team. Four bets were against the Ladbrokes League Two club.
